Seeing your goals written down makes them tangible, and therefore, more attainable. Creating a wish jar is the first step to achieving these goals.

Think of your wish jar as your own lucky charm and wishing well put together. You write down your goals and wishes and put them into, or "give" them to the jar. From there, it is a matter of believing and manifesting. But before you can manifest your goals, you have to pick a jar first.

Choosing and Decorating the Wish Jar

The first step to creating a wish jar is to choose a jar that appeals to you. The possibilities for this include, but are not limited to: jam or mason jars, baby food jars, cookie jars, or candle jars. When you've found the jar of your choice, be sure to clean and dry it thoroughly.

The next thing you might want to do once you've cleaned your jar is decorate it. You may want to paint it, write inspiring quotes or draw symbols on it. Whatever you decide, it should have a significant meaning to you.

For example, you may wish to paint your jar red because, to you, red symbolizes taking action. Colors and symbols can be especially influential, so take the time to consider these carefully. (Keep in mind, a box can be used as well.)

Deciding Your Goals and Wishes

When deciding your goals, the first thing you want to do is keep them positive and affirmative. Leave out negative words like "can't" and "don't."

If one of your goals is to find a new job, you may want to word it like this: "I have a great, well-paying job that I love" as opposed to "I have a decent job I don't hate." Just because you don't hate a job doesn't mean you love it.

Another thing you want to keep in mind while writing your goals is to keep them in the present tense. This solidifies the fact that it is happening now, at this moment.

Once you make your wish, it is already in action, so writing it in the present tense validates this point. Try to keep away from the future tense, because it implies that you want it eventually and not right now.

One last tip is to write your wishes as specific as possible (keeping in mind the amount of space you're working with). If one of your wishes is a new car, specify what kind of car you want. You might want to write something like "I have a royal blue, low-mileage, 2008 Nissan Altima with leather seats." You can have as many or as little qualifiers as you feel necessary.

Manifesting Your Goals and Wishes

Now that you've got your jar decorated and your goals/wishes written down, it's time to manifest them. One technique you might find useful is visualization. You can visualize yourself having accomplished one or all of these goals at once. You may want to see yourself driving to your wonderful, well-paying job in your royal blue 2008 Nissan Altima with leather seats, or take them one at a time. Do whatever is easier for you.

If visualization is hard for you, you may want to use your goals/wishes as affirmations, and repeat them to yourself either throughout the day or right before you go to sleep. This way, the thought gets programmed into your head, and you will start acting in such a way that is conducive to you reaching these goals. Once you've got your wish, take it out of the jar and write a new one.

Making a wish jar is an easy and creative way to achieve your goals, as long as you put the necessary thought and effort into it. While your goal may be serious, the process of achieving it doesn't have to be, so have fun with your wish jar!

Hi Tayla,

Awesome advice. It's similar to a prosperity box in that whatever you place into it will manifest.

Thanks for sharing your manifestation insight :)
