Having a special area of your house where you can sit quietly and reflect on your dreams can help bring them to fruition.
Everyone has a dream that they would desperately like to come true, but sometimes dismisses them as being impossible to attain. Well, like the Adidas commercial says, “Impossible is nothing.” There is always a way to achieve your dreams. A dream altar is one suggestion to help get the things you desire. Choosing a Space for the Dream AltarThe first consideration when creating a dream altar is where to set it up. Choose a space that is accessible, but also has a certain amount of privacy. You would not want to have it in the middle of the living room where others may not treat it with the respect you know it deserves. If possible, choose a corner of the house that is removed from regular traffic. One of the best bets would be to have it in the bedroom, since there would most likely not be a lot of coming and going by anyone other than yourself. Or, if there is a staircase with an open area, you may decide to put the altar in the space under the stairs. If there isn't a lot of space available, and keeping the altar in a public area can't be avoided, consider alerting visitors to what it is, so that they treat it respectfully. If you are not comfortable having that conversation, simply store the items elsewhere and return them when the guests leave. Choosing the Actual AltarNow that the space for the altar has been chosen, it is time to choose the altar itself. The reason to do this after deciding on the area is so that you will know how much space there is available. You wouldn’t want to have to find a new space because the altar didn’t fit. If you are planning to make the altar permanent, you may want to use a coffee table or end table. If you would like something more portable, something as simple as a blanket or towel that will be used only for that purpose can be used. Whatever suits your needs is perfectly acceptable. Decorating the Dream AltarNow that the technical components of dream altar construction are complete, it's time to decorate the altar. Anything that pertains to what you want should go on the altar. If, for example, you want to buy a new house, pictures of houses like the one you want should go on the altar. If you can’t find pictures but are artistic, draw the dream house. If you prefer more organization than just having pictures lying around, consider creating a vision board. A vision board is a collage of pictures of the goals and dreams you have. These can be either very simple or very elaborate; whatever works best for what you want. What to Do at the Dream AltarYour altar is a place to reflect on what your dreams are and how to accomplish them. Anything that relates to achieving your dreams should take place at the altar. If you’re looking for a job, write your resume or do your search there. If you want to save money, sit at the altar while balancing your checkbook or writing the monthly budget. Another option to consider is to place a wish jar on the altar, and add and reflect on your wishes there. The wish jar, along with a vision board if you decided to create one, makes your dreams more tangible. Seeing the things you want written down or in the form of pictures reinforces them. Your altar will only work if you put forth the effort to accomplish your dreams. Do not sit by passively and expect that new house to fall from the sky. Once you tell the universe what you want, it will place it in your path, but you have to walk the path in order to find it!
